Overview

Ed Kardauskas has served as trusted advisor to major corporations, schools, and government for over 30 years. Before assuming the leadership role at Excaliber Security Services LLC he served as a senior consultant at one of the nation’s largest security consulting firms, where he managed enterprise level security consulting, system design and construction projects at major corporate and critical infrastructure sites throughout North America. Prior to that position he served as a captain and acting chief in a 200 officer metropolitan law enforcement agency, and in several senior regional and corporate security management roles in a large publicly traded national corporation. His well researched presentations are noted for thought provoking insight and actionable content.

Security Operations and Consulting Experience

• Served as corporate security manager and wrote all the security policies and procedures for a 1.2 billion dollar publicly traded national company.
• Served as the senior project manager for a multimillion dollar project to integrate security upgrades of lighting, fencing, card access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarm systems at 47 power plants, gas storage and distribution sites, and other critical infrastructure facilities for a major utility company.
• Acted as the senior project manager for a CCTV / access control / alarm system / proprietary monitoring center project for a publicly traded international logistics company at 24 sites across Canada.
• Started and managed the national security communications center for a major corporation - saved the company over $4MM by eliminating redundancies.
• Designed and managed the installation of the locks, card access, CCTV, radio communications, fencing, gates, personnel security, and medical rescue systems for $42 million in new commercial real estate construction for a national corporation
• Served as co leader of a major corporation's business continuity planning project
• Managed security officers and security related issues and operations for multiple companies at corporate headquarters and facilities in multiple states and Canadian provinces under contract, proprietary and blended staffing models
• Conducted threat / risk / vulnerability assessments and C-TPAT and TAPA reviews for major national and international companies and schools

Law Enforcement / Emergency Operations Experience

Before joining the civilian sector, he worked in law enforcement with the 200 officer City of White Plains, NY Police Department. He retired at the rank of Capt

Education and Industry Certifications

Mr. Kardauskas holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Manhattan College, and is a graduate of theFBI National Academy. He is the fifth person worldwide to earn all 3 ASIS International board certifications in security:

The ASIS certification program is the first and only program of its kind to be awarded a coveted Designation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology (SAFETY) Act of 2002. The program is also Accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), the U.S. member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Mr. Kardauskas is also certified in homeland security by the American College of Forensic Examiners (CHSIII), and as an anti-terrorism specialist by the Anti Terrorism Accreditation Board (CAS).

Mr. Kardauskas has deep experience with integrating risk analysis based security programs into an organization's business strategy for measurable returns on investment. He has worked extensively in threat, risk and vulnerability assessments, physical security strategy and security system design, workplace violence prevention and response, criminal and non criminal investigations, critical incident management, business continuity planning, security officer program management, and coordination of private security operations with the services of public sector emergency response agencies.

Licensing

Mr. Kardauskas is licensed as a security consultant in the state of Texas (License #DD01753), and is authorized to work unescorted in Maritime Transportation Security Act controlled port facilities under the Transportation Security Administration's Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) Program.
